R/R

Matt came home for his R/R the day before we came home from Utah, it was nice he got to spend some 'me' time at the house. Which he has never been in since we moved while he was away. I had my good ol' friend pick us up at the airport and he was at the house to surprise Genna. And surprised she was. She was carrying the carseat in over her head and walked right by him and set it down. Turned around and saw him, giggled and kept walking! I think she was going to get the other carseat. I guess maybe she just felt it was so normal to have him there, which is good. But when I said her name, she turned around and gave him a big hug. She was happy to have her dad home for a while. My friend was there to take our pic, which is awesome. If you look close you can see the band aid keeping my glasses together. The first flight home Jake smacked my face and broke them in half. HAHA. I asked the flight attendant for something, told them I could not see anything without them! I was so afraid of taking the rest of the trip home blind. But lucky the nice lady next to me had a band aid. Who ever thought of taking a first aid kit on a plane? Lucky me.

He was crying about 2 seconds before this. LOL

He made it home just in time for my bday, they made a lovely cake with chocolate hearts, yum.

Jacob loved the big movie. This is one of my fave pics of them. They are so cute, they look just alike here.

One of my fave pics of them, this was at the airport in Dallas. After he left Genna said, it's ok that dad went to Afghanistan, cuz he'll be back in two days. Oh how I wish.

Marhmellow Stealer

I caught him stealing the marshmellows off the table at my mom's house. Too funny.

Meeting their only cousin

The kids playing

It was cool, Matt's brother came to visit his gf's family in Utah, they had a kid and well la!! I'm an Aunt. It's pretty exciting to me. This was the first time we met him, he's such a cutie. Both the boys look exactly like their dads.

Uncle Mark with all the kids. I think they are about 4 months apart, poor Jake, he's going to be a short guy. I think the only things he got from me were my height and hair color.

Jake was so excited to see a little person like himself, he went over and gave him a big ol' hug. Poor Chase fell to the ground and just laid there. They were so cute together.

Genna's Christmas morning.

She had a little more experience in opening presents.

So excited of course.

Setting up one of the tunnels

One of her new princess dresses, good job Santa.

Aunt Tiffany was right in the middle of the toys.

Jake's Christmas morning

Santa brought some tunnels to play in, the kids loved it, it was pretty cold at my mom's house, so I put gloves on his hands to keep warm, to my surprise he would actually wear them all day! It was great.

I thought it was cute he climbed up there and sat down to watch tv. Who doesn't love A Christmas Story where he kid shots his eye out, and the other one gets his tongue stuck on the pole. lol

Playing in his new ball pit. Good job Grandma

This is about as interested as he got in opening presents.

Aunt Tiffany I think had more fun with that, lol.

Christmas Eve

Genna and her Grandma.

Making Santa cookies, according to Gen he was going to eat them all! Since there was about 2 dozen he only ate a few.

Neighbor Jessica brought over her snake, Genna was a little hesitant, Jake kept trying to grab it, lol. And the dog was like freaking out.

What Aunt Tiffany gave her to play princess in. She had to 'nip-n-tuck' it in a few places. Now that I think of it I never asked her if she washed it. And that's me under the blanket on the bed that was in the living room. That's about all I did when I was there, it was pretty nice.

Utah Trip

They both like that horse, there goes all my quarters.

Uncle Zach playing music for the kido's. Jake loved Grandma's house, everything was within reach. He could climb onto every bed and even the short couches!

Playing in the snow, Grandma had the jacket waiting for her at the airport, since she doesn't need one like this too often at home.

Playing at the USO in Denver, they had a ton of leftover Halloween candy. Jake walked around with a sucker and kept bothering the guys playing the wii. I guess you can say this is about when he officially gave up on crawling.

Daddy doll

After a long night of pizza makin, and cookie eating she went to bed pretty well. This is a pretty rare occurrence in my home. Usually the night consists of constant, "Go back to your room" "There is nothing to be scared of" "Fine you can sleep in my bed as long as you go to bed" "Go to bed Genna or you can't go to school tomorrow" You know stuff like that. I gave her, her daddy doll that I made for the kids at super saturday. She misses her daddy so much. Well she just held on to her daddy doll and fell right to sleep. I couldn't miss the opportunity of this picture. She's just so peaceful. She always talks about when her dad comes home, and she prays about him. Saying she loves her daddy and misses him, and she wants him to come home and be safe. My husband is in the process of recording a message for each of the kids on a voice box so I can put it in there. I really hope she'll just fall asleep pushing that listening to his voice.

Pizza Makin

I like to buy the premade pizza crust from the store, it's so easy and fun for the kids to make their own toppings. They are pretty good too. We had a fun night making pizza for dinner, then I cheated on the cookies, and bought the premade precut stuff. It was great. So we had pizza and sugar cookies, uhmm I think it was a school night too. Oh well... My kids could eat cheese all day, just to let you know.

2 years and counting

December 16th, 2006.

I can't believe we've been married for two years now. I just wish he was here to celebrate with me. :) It seems like only yesterday we met, but it's been four years now that we've been together. I guess we would of been married longer by now, but separation from the good ol' army is at it again. It's been a stressful, happy two years. We've had a new little boy to add to our bunch, and now a new girl soon. We're just movin right along.

We were married at a friends house, I went to church with them, and they graciously offered their home for anything, so I asked, and they said yes. It was a small wedding, but it was nice. The funniest part of the wedding was probably during the ceremony right when I was about to walk down the stairs the door bell rang. Everyone got a good laugh. I think the most shocking part was when he did not tell me he'd be using his teeth to take my garter belt off. He just flung my dress up and stuck his whole head under there. The funny thing was the missionaries were standing right there watching, I'm sure they turned their heads. LOL. It was great when he threw it, it just landed on the ground, and all the guys just kinda stared at it. Then Peter was brave enough to pick it, he still hasn't asked my friend to marry him...

I love this picture, Genna was our little flower girl, and since my cousin decided he didn't like the fact that I was getting married on his birthday he did not want to be the ring bearer. So Genna was our little flower girl/ring bearer. We sang happy birthday to my cousin later, that made things a little better.

Everyone together.

Matt was soooo nervous, when he was trying to put the ring on my finger he was like shaking, and his hands were so sweaty. With all those people watching, who wouldn't be. My bishop married us, he was great, totally supported our marriage, and that really helps so much. Just can't wait to go to the temple.

The happy couple. How do you rotate pictures?

The cake was so much fun, we both got each other pretty good. Everything was very beautiful. The cake had strawberry stuff in it, it was good. The honey moon was good too.
